UK regulator opens consultation on trading venue guidance

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has opened a consultation on revised guidance on rules governing the scope of oversight for UK trading venues such as futures and options markets. In a consultation paper released on last Thursday, the FCA has laid out its interpretation of the rules governing the “regulatory perimeter” for trading venues in the UK’s post-Brexit regulatory framework. “Further guidance on the trading venue will promote competition and high standards by ensuring that models possessing the key characteristics of a venue are treated equally, within the framework of the trading venues regime,” the FCA said in a statement.
